Batteries must be -

• Be charged correctly: The current and voltage used to charge the batteries must not be greater than is set out in the instructions. Batteries should not be charged in excessively cold or hot temperatures. Do not leave the battery in the charger for over 24 hours. Do not leave the battery unattended while charging. Never use a modified or damaged charger.
• Use correct discharge current, i.e. The discharge current should not exceed the level set out in the instructions. If it does this may cause the battery to overheat which is dangerous.
• Store the batteries at the correct temperature, batteries should be stored at an ambient temperature in dry and a well ventilated area and conditions. Avoid excessive hot or cold temperatures.
• Keep batteries in a case when they are not in use. Do not carry them around loose in bags or your pockets this is vitally important and that batteries do not come in to contact with any metal objects - this can lead to leakage, explosion or fire !
• DO NOT use if they are damaged, abnormally hot, discoloured or deformed and if the wrapping is not intact or damaged or if any other abnormal conditions are detected. Dispose of the batteries if this occurs, do not use or attempt to charge the batteries.
• Not to come into contact with water or fire. Dispose of the batteries if this happens.
• Not be put in a microwave oven or in any high pressure containers.
• Not be used or assembled with other different makes, types or models of batteries.
• Avoid excessive physical shock or vibration to the batteries.

If leaking from a battery gets in your eyes, don not rub your eyes at all - wash them with clean water and seek medical attention immediately. Ensure that the battery is disposed of straight away and that any liquid that has leaked from the battery is contained and removed as it may cause explosion or fire.
